Nursing Diagnosis for Encephalitis

Encephalitis is an acute inflammation of the brain. Encephalitis with meningitis is known as meningoencephalitis. Symptoms include headache, fever, confusion, drowsiness, and fatigue. More advanced and serious symptoms include seizures or convulsions, tremors, hallucinations, and memory problems.


Nursing Diagnosis for Encephalitis
  1. Acute pain
  2. Hyperthermia
  3. Impaired gas exchange
  4. Impaired physical mobility
  5. Risk for deficient fluid volume
  6. Imbalanced nutrition: Less than body requirements
  7. Anxiety
  8. Disturbed thought processes
  9. Risk for impaired skin integrity
